Overview
Community Extension Programs at Painted Sky Elementary School provides high-quality before and after school care for children 5-14 years of age. Painted Sky School Age Program offers homework support, creative media (i.e. art, science, dramatic play), invitations for exploration, investigation and design, recreation and other educational activities in a safe, clean, friendly, fun and age-appropriate learning environment.

Opportunities
Our program is conveniently located in the Painted Sky Elementary School campus. Children can attend the program after attending clubs and other extracurricular activities. We open early on early out days and all day during intersession breaks. Our site is open on selected holidays. Call or visit us for more information.

Welcome to the Thunderbird family of Painted Sky.
Students enrolled in the Painted Sky School-Age Program feel that it is their “home away from home.” K-5 students participate in educational and recreational activities from the time that they arrive at school before classes begin and after school until they are picked up by their families.
The program is focused on the needs and interests of every child and family. Students are generally divided into the appropriate age group so that the activities can be focused to their level. Painted Sky School-Age Program provides homework support and didactic activities that reinforce what they are learning at school during the day. Students have the opportunity to participate in physical fitness activities, a daily healthy snack, dramatic play, creative media, reading, and other individual and team activities that are designed to help them develop critical thinking, social, and other cognitive skills. They also enjoy field trips and guest speakers on a regular basis, based on their interests.
From it’s set up and environment to the selected staff members to the planned activities, the Painted Sky School-Age Program is designed to promote the success, safety, and happiness of the children. Families are able to leave that which is most valuable to them, their children, with confidence and the peace of mind that their children will be provided with an enriching experience that they love to participate in.
The Painted Sky School-Age Program is a licensed facility that enforces the standards of the AZ Department of Health Services, acting as a model of excellence for best practice. We are also proud to be accredited by the National After School Association.
Since we are located within the school, we are able to work hand in hand with school administrators and teachers to allow the children to be in an environment where they feel comfortable and where they can participate in the school’s extracurricular activities. In addition, the program is open and running full time on the days that the school is closed such as holidays and intersession. These days are provided at no extra charge for the families who participate in the program full time.
Painted Sky School-Age Program supports extracurricular activities provided by CEP, such as Spanish, lacrosse, and math/science classes. We also have a summer program that is packed with activities, field trips, and fun. Families are encouraged to be involved with the program by donating their time and help in special activities and to participate in our fundraising activities that raise money to provide scholarships for families in need. Suggestions and ideas for activities that interest the children are also welcome at all times.
